I am a Junior Fellow at the Society of Fellows at Harvard University. This summer, I am working on a new article with Kevin O'Brien tentatively entitled "State Reflected in Society: Mixed Signals and Citizen Activism in China." In the fall, I plan to revise my December 2009 Ph.D. dissertation "Nagivating the Boundaries of Poltiical Tolerance: Environmental Litigation in China" into a book manuscript.

Beyond Chinese environmental lawsuits, my broader research interests include globalization, non-state actors, law and society and the dynamics of dissent in authoritarian states.
